Dan's Quiz Page - Open Source

Good Open Source quiz generators. These all use CGI scripts to grade the quiz.
- Extropia.com has the free product: Extropia.com | WebExam. She seems to have a large number of users. A variation of this is here.
- Scripts for Educators: QuizTest!. This seems to be based on Extropia's WebExam.
- QuizMaker Mail Version 2.1. (04/13/99: now a bad link) There are 3 versions of QuizMaker linked to by: Quiz Resource.
- Question Master. Most of these are Perl scripts, but this is a Java CGI program. He defines a simple text language to create each quiz.
- WWWAssign. This one seems to be the most flexible, allowing different input types and defining variables.
Free Javascript software. The problem with this is that you can view the source code and see the answers. But these are preferred by people who can not set up a CGI script. These are sometimes called "self-grading" because they just give the student the right answer instead of sending the results to the instructor.
